Terms & Policies

Mon Personal Terms

Master personal customer agreement for using Mon.

Last updated: 16 September 2026

Why this document is important

These Mon Personal Terms set out the main rules for using Mon as an individual customer. They are the master customer agreement for Mon and apply together with the Account & IBAN Terms, Virtual Visa Card Terms, Fees & Limits, EMI & Issuer Disclosure, Privacy Policy, Prohibited Activities & Jurisdictions, AML/KYC Summary, Complaints Policy, and other policies shown in the Mon Terms & Policies section.

During registration, Mon shows a short acceptance statement: I agree to the Mon Personal Terms and Terms & Policies. By accepting that statement, creating an account, using the app, requesting a card, starting verification, sending an instruction, or clicking an acceptance control, you agree to these Mon Personal Terms and the documents incorporated into them through the Terms & Policies section, including the product-specific terms that apply to each feature you use.

Document hierarchy

These terms are the main customer agreement for Mon. The documents shown in the Terms & Policies section are incorporated into these terms by reference. Product-specific terms explain particular services in more detail. If a product-specific term is more specific for an account, IBAN, payment, currency balance, virtual Visa card, fee, limit, or issuer control, that product-specific term applies to that feature.

Mandatory law, issuer requirements, card-scheme rules, sanctions obligations, and regulatory instructions apply even if they are not repeated in every Mon document.

App confirmations and instructions

A tap, checkbox, biometric approval, PIN approval, one-time-code approval, confirmation button, card request, verification start, card control, transfer confirmation, or other in-app action may be treated as your instruction and, where applicable, your electronic acceptance or acknowledgement of the terms that apply to that action.

Mon may record the document version, action, time, user, tenant, device, session, IP, and other audit details needed to evidence the instruction or acknowledgement. Mon may still ask for a separate or renewed acceptance where required by law, issuer requirement, card-scheme rule, product change, or material terms update.

Who provides Mon

Mon is operated by MonTech Group, UAB, company code 307672605, registered office Giruliu g. 5, LT-12124 Vilnius, Lithuania. Mon is the customer-facing app delivered on the MonCore technology platform.

ConnectPay provides the regulated electronic-money, payment-account and IBAN services enabled for Mon. Cards are provided through the ConnectPay card programme under the applicable card terms. The EMI & Issuer Disclosure explains these roles. Mon and MonCore do not hold customer funds.

ConnectPay publishes its terms and conditions. The product-specific terms presented during onboarding or before a service is used identify the terms applicable to your Mon account and card.

Personal use only

Mon is provided for personal use by individual customers. You must use Mon for yourself only, not for a business, another person, a trust, an association, a marketplace, payment processing, agency activity, or any other third-party purpose unless Mon expressly approves that use in writing.

You may ordinarily hold one personal Mon account unless Mon expressly approves otherwise. You must not sell, rent, lend, share, or transfer access to your account, card, credentials, device session, or verification status.

Eligibility and onboarding

You may use Mon only if you are at least 18 years old, act for yourself, reside in a supported European Economic Area jurisdiction, pass onboarding and identity checks, and continue to satisfy risk, issuer, and compliance requirements.

Mon, MonCore, or ConnectPay may request identity documents, proof of address, tax or residency information, source-of-funds information, transaction explanations, re-verification, or other information needed to comply with law, issuer requirements, or risk controls. Mon may refuse, limit, suspend, or end access if eligibility cannot be verified or no longer applies.

Account type and electronic money

Where an account, IBAN, or payment service is available, it is provided in connection with ConnectPay electronic-money services. Account balances are electronic money, not bank deposits. They do not earn interest and are not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme. Funds are safeguarded by the issuer in accordance with applicable electronic-money law.

Opening an account or using Mon does not guarantee access to every feature shown in the app or on the website. Features may depend on supported country, product configuration, issuer approval, risk status, technical availability, and completed checks.

Currency balances and conversion

Mon lets you manage balances in the currencies supported for your account. Currency availability and payment options are shown in the app. Currency balances may share the same IBAN.

Where conversion is available, review the exchange rate, fee and amount to receive before confirming. Payment and card settlement currencies depend on the service used. The Account & IBAN Terms explain balances, conversion and payment instructions in more detail.

Services

Depending on approval and configuration, Mon may provide account access, IBAN information, transaction history, currency balances, virtual Visa card issuance, card controls, Open Banking top-ups, transfers, bank withdrawals, Mon user transfers, money requests, account recovery, identity rechecks, customer support, and related compliance workflows.

Some services may be unavailable, restricted, paused, or limited by country, risk status, issuer requirements, technical availability, compliance review, app version, or a third-party provider involved in the service.

Open Banking top-ups

Where Open Banking top-ups are available, you may be redirected to your bank or an authorised Open Banking flow to authenticate the payment. A top-up is not completed merely because you start the flow. It is completed only when the payment is received, accepted, and credited through the supported Mon and issuer process.

Your bank, the Open Banking provider, Mon, MonCore, or ConnectPay may reject, delay, cancel, or review a top-up for security, eligibility, compliance, fraud-prevention, technical, or issuer reasons. Any fee or limit that applies is shown in the Fees & Limits page or in the app where required.

Instructions and transactions

You are responsible for checking payment details before confirming an instruction, including beneficiary details, amount, currency display, payment purpose, and any shown fee or rate. Once a transaction or issuer instruction has been submitted, it may not be possible to cancel it.

Mon may delay, reject, request more information about, or refuse an instruction where required for security, sanctions, fraud prevention, liquidity, technical, regulatory, issuer, card-scheme, or risk reasons.

Virtual Visa cards

Where approved and enabled, Mon provides access to virtual Visa cards through the ConnectPay card programme. Virtual cards are delivered digitally inside the app and are subject to the Virtual Visa Card Terms and the card terms presented to you.

Fees, limits, and exchange

Fees and limits are described in the Fees & Limits page and in the app. Where a fee, exchange rate, margin, or limit applies to an action, Mon will show the relevant information before confirmation where legally or operationally required.

Where a fee or rate is not yet available, Mon may display / until the final customer-facing price is set. You should not treat / as a promise that a service is free unless the Fees & Limits page or the app expressly states that no charge applies.

Your security duties

You must provide accurate information, keep it up to date, protect your device and credentials, enable required security controls, and notify Mon immediately through the app if you suspect unauthorised access, fraud, loss of device, or compromise of a password, passcode, PIN, card credential, authenticator device, email account, or phone number.

You must not bypass security controls, allow another person to operate your account, follow instructions from someone claiming that you must move funds to a safe account, or disclose one-time codes, PINs, card details, passwords, or recovery information to anyone. Mon support will never ask you to disclose a full card number, security code, one-time passcode, password, PIN, or authenticator code.

For security and compliance reasons, you must not access Mon through tools or patterns designed to conceal unlawful activity or make access appear to come continuously from unrelated countries. You should keep your device software, app, browser, and security tools updated, avoid unknown links or attachments, and install apps only from trusted sources.

Account recovery and rechecks

Account recovery, device changes, PIN resets, and verification rechecks may require additional authentication, identity checks, liveness checks, document review, transaction review, or a waiting period. During review, access to card details, transfers, withdrawals, or other sensitive features may be restricted.

If you cannot complete a required recheck, Mon may keep the account restricted until the issue is resolved or until a permitted closure, transfer-out, or other lawful outcome is available.

Restrictions, suspension, and closure

Mon may freeze, restrict, wind down, or close access where required by law, issuer instruction, card scheme rules, security controls, risk review, suspected fraud, unsupported activity, unpaid amounts, misuse, prohibited activity, sanctions exposure, or breach of these terms.

If funds remain and full closure cannot be completed immediately, Mon may restrict the account to permitted viewing, support, transfer-out, withdrawal, statement, or remediation activity until the balance is reduced to zero or another lawful outcome applies. Account closure is also subject to the closure and remaining-funds rules in the Account & IBAN Terms.

Liability

Mon is responsible for providing the app and operational services with reasonable skill and care. Mon is not responsible for loss caused by your fraud, intentional breach, gross negligence, failure to protect credentials, incorrect payment details supplied by you, unsupported use, third-party service failure outside Mon control, or events outside reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Communications and durable copies

Mon may provide notices, confirmations, statements, legal updates, support messages, and required information in English through the app, email, website, downloadable documents, or another durable and retrievable channel. Information provided through the app, email, website, or another agreed channel is treated as made available when delivered or posted, unless mandatory law requires another method.

You must keep your postal address, phone number, email address, and other contact details current and check Mon communications regularly so security, legal, issuer, and service notices can reach you.

You can print or save the hosted terms using the Print / Save PDF control on this page. Mon may also make important documents available inside the app.

Changes

Mon may update these terms to reflect legal, regulatory, issuer, card scheme, product, risk, technology, pricing, security, or operational changes. Where required, Mon will provide notice in the app, by email, on the website, or through another appropriate channel.

If a change requires your consent, Mon may ask you to accept it before continuing to use the affected service. If you do not accept a required change, Mon may restrict or end the affected service as permitted by law and the product-specific terms.

Complaints

If something goes wrong, contact Mon through in-app support. Mon will record the issue, request evidence where needed, and coordinate with ConnectPay or other providers where the matter involves regulated issuer services, card-scheme activity, payment execution, or a third-party flow.

The Complaints Policy explains complaint handling, response expectations, and escalation routes. Eligible unresolved regulated-service complaints may be referred to the competent authority or dispute-resolution body described in the applicable product terms.

Law and language

These terms are provided in English. The governing law and competent venue may depend on the customer relationship, applicable mandatory consumer rules, issuer documentation, and the place where services are provided. Mandatory rights under applicable law are not limited by these terms.
