1. Parties and status of these terms
These terms cover virtual Visa cards made available to eligible Mon customers through the ConnectPay card programme. They apply together with the Mon Personal Terms, Account & IBAN Terms, Fees & Limits and the product-specific card agreement presented to you.
MonTech Group, UAB operates the Mon app and MonCore technology platform. ConnectPay provides the account services and access to the card programme. The product-specific card agreement identifies the card issuer and its responsibilities. References to the card issuer below mean that provider.
2. Product scope
These terms cover virtual Visa cards delivered digitally through Mon.
The virtual card is a payment instrument owned and issued by the card issuer. The approved customer is the cardholder and is the only person authorised to use it.
3. Application and issuance
The customer applies for the card through Mon. Issuance is subject to an active ConnectPay payment account, complete and accurate customer information, successful identity and compliance checks, sufficient MonCore programme eligibility, acceptance of applicable terms, and the card issuer's approval.
The virtual card becomes available after the card issuer accepts the application and issues it. The card issuer may determine the number and type of cards available and may refuse issuance where required by law, risk controls, MonCore programme rules, security, or card-scheme requirements. The customer must notify Mon through in-app support without undue delay if material cardholder information changes, following the instructions shown in the app. The customer must also report any app, card, or payment malfunction that may affect card transactions.
4. Digital delivery and access
The virtual card is delivered inside the Mon app. Card details may be protected by device authentication, passcode, biometric confirmation, session controls, or an additional identity check. No physical item is dispatched.
The customer must ensure that only the customer can access the card details. Display or use may be temporarily unavailable during a security review, account recovery, provider interruption, account restriction, or issuer instruction.
5. Card security credentials and consent
Card security credentials include the card number, expiry date, security code, authentication values, and any other personalised element used to authenticate the cardholder or authorise a card transaction. The customer must keep them confidential and must not disclose them to another person.
Use of the card or its security credentials in the required manner constitutes the cardholder's consent and authorisation for the transaction. The customer must immediately report suspected disclosure, unauthorised access, or use by another person and must block the card in Mon where that control is available.
6. Permitted card use
The card may be used only by the cardholder for lawful personal purchases at merchants and channels that accept Visa and are supported by the MonCore programme for Mon. The customer must not use the card for prohibited activity, allow another person to use it, or attempt to bypass limits, security controls, sanctions controls, or merchant-category restrictions.
A virtual card can be used after issuance when it is active and sufficient funds are available. A merchant may independently refuse the card, apply its own acceptance rules, or request additional authentication.
7. Authorisation, holds, and settlement
A card transaction may first place an authorisation hold against the available payment-account balance. The final amount presented by the merchant may settle later and may differ where a tip, exchange rate, offline adjustment, incremental authorisation, reversal, or merchant correction applies.
The customer must maintain enough available funds for the transaction and any agreed charge. An expired or released hold is not proof that the merchant will never submit the transaction for settlement within the period permitted by card-scheme rules.
8. Limits and transaction refusal
Daily, weekly, monthly, per-transaction, merchant-category, country, currency, or other limits may apply. Applicable customer limits are shown through Mon where available and may be adjusted for security, compliance, issuer, or MonCore programme reasons.
A transaction may be refused if the card is invalid, expired, blocked, inactive, or restricted; the payment account is closed or restricted; available funds are insufficient; authentication fails; the merchant or activity is unsupported; fraud or unlawful activity is suspected; or execution would breach law, sanctions, Visa rules, or issuer controls.
9. Currency conversion and charges
Your card uses the funding account and settlement currency configured for that card. Holding a balance in another currency does not automatically change the card's funding or settlement settings.
When a card payment requires currency conversion, the applicable card-scheme or issuer rate and any disclosed fee apply under the card terms. A merchant or ATM may offer its own conversion; review that offer before accepting it. The final settled amount may differ from the initial authorisation because of exchange rates or transaction adjustments.
In-app balance conversion is a separate instruction: Mon shows the rate, fee and amount to receive before you confirm. Review the Fees & Limits and your transaction details for the charges applicable to your card and plan.
10. Card validity, expiry, and account closure
The virtual card is valid until the end of the expiry month displayed in Mon unless it is blocked, replaced, cancelled, or closed earlier. The card issuer may decide whether an eligible card can be renewed or reissued.
The card becomes invalid when its connected payment account is closed. Closing or replacing the card does not cancel an underlying merchant agreement, recurring payment, completed transaction, pending refund, dispute, or other obligation created before closure.
11. Blocking, unblocking, replacement, and cancellation
The customer may request a card block, eligible replacement, or cancellation at any time through Mon or in-app support. The card issuer or Mon may block, deactivate, replace, or close the card where credentials may be compromised, another person may be using the card, the payment account is restricted or closed, fraud or unlawful activity is suspected, the activity is unsupported, the customer has not complied with contractual duties, an issuer instruction applies, or another important security or regulatory reason exists.
A temporary block may be lifted when the reason no longer exists. Where unblocking is not possible, an eligible replacement virtual card may be issued. Replacement may change the card number, expiry date, or security code, and the customer may need to update merchants, subscriptions, or digital-wallet records.
12. Identity, AML, and information requests
The card issuer may periodically verify the cardholder's identity, request information about card activity or persons involved in a transaction, exchange information where legally permitted, and temporarily or permanently restrict card use while meeting anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorist-financing, sanctions, fraud-prevention, or other regulatory obligations.
Failure to provide requested information may result in refusal of a transaction, continued restriction, card closure, or account action.
13. Merchant refunds and disputes
A merchant refund is normally returned through the same card route and is credited after it is received and matched. Closing or replacing a card does not necessarily prevent a valid refund from being processed to the connected account.
If a customer does not recognise a transaction, believes it was processed incorrectly, or has an unresolved merchant dispute, the customer must contact Mon through in-app support without undue delay. Mon may request receipts, merchant correspondence, device or authentication information, and a detailed statement. Mon coordinates any available issuer investigation or Visa dispute process with the card issuer. A dispute or chargeback is not guaranteed and remains subject to law, issuer rules, evidence, and Visa time limits.
14. Unauthorised transactions
The customer must review card activity regularly and immediately report suspected unauthorised use. The card issuer and Mon may examine authentication, device, card, merchant, and account evidence to determine whether a transaction was authorised and whether a statutory refund is due.
Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. A customer's fraud, intentional breach, or gross negligence in protecting security credentials may affect liability to the extent permitted by applicable law.
15. Service availability and third parties
Card transactions rely on Visa, merchants, acquirers, payment processors, telecommunications, and other third parties. A merchant or intermediary may refuse or delay a transaction independently of Mon and the card issuer. The card issuer is responsible for its own regulated obligations but does not guarantee that every merchant or third-party system will accept or process the card.
16. Liability
The customer is responsible for complying with these terms and applicable law. The card issuer and Mon remain responsible for obligations that applicable law assigns to them. Neither party excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
The card issuer and Mon are not responsible for loss caused by incorrect merchant information, a merchant's refusal to accept the card, the customer's breach of security duties, an incorrect instruction, or events outside reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
17. Changes, governing law, and complaints
These issuer terms may be changed or terminated in accordance with the notice and termination provisions applying to the applicable card agreement. The customer will receive any notice required by law through Mon or another durable channel.
The governing law and dispute-resolution arrangements for the card are stated in the applicable card agreement, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. Card complaints should first be submitted through Mon in-app support. Mon coordinates review with ConnectPay, the card issuer or the card scheme as appropriate. Eligible unresolved complaints may be referred to the competent dispute-resolution body identified in those terms.
